This gorgeous dress is from the Spring 2019 Oscar de la Renta collection under the creative direction of Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia. This was a piece that was produced for the shops and it is stunning and easy to wear. It is a definite show stopper and I love it.

The dress is amazing. It is made out of a light weight ivory silk crepe with extensive embroidery work done with a gold medal thread that runs across the entire front of the dress. I love that since it is in this ivory colour that this is a piece that might play double duty and also work for a bride or for an extended wedding weekend. The dress is cut in a long minimalist sheath that widens out softly as it near the hem. The neckline is scooped wide across and the dress is meant to skim over you from bust to hips before it starts to do that soft flare out on the lower skirt. The entire front of the dress from neck to hem has a stunning trailing design that mixes a gold medal thread with tiny gold sequins little gold seed beads. These are set in a curving design that represents leaves and flowers all the way down the front. It is a stunning detail that adds beautiful impact to the dress. The sleeves are the absolute star of the show. Starting at each shoulder a caped sleeve in the same fabric falls over the top of your arm and then widen out to cascade all the way to the hem and slightly past. They are open underneath so this gives them the ability to catch the slightest bit of air in billow out around and behind you when you move. It is the perfect touch of drama that softens the rest of the dress. It is stunning. Excellent condition with a minor note below.

I love when I find these earlier examples of Oscar de la Renta's work. He would heave been more personally involved in them and they really showcase the designer he was to become. The label on this dress tells us that it's probably late 60s maybe the first couple years of the 1970s and it seems similar to some of the pieces I've seen from the 1970 season. The dress beautifully showcases the the genius of his work and attention to detail. This is a favourite from him that I've had in the shop

The dress is gorgeous and is made from a beautiful black silk taffeta that holds the shape and volume that this dress has perfectly. The fabric choice also keeps the dress fairly light in weight while giving the dress some structure and shape. The front bodice is stunning. Two shaped triangles cover the front of the bodice, and there is a deep V for the neckline. The triangles extend all the way to the top of the neck and they are finished with a ruffle in the same fabric. This makes that V be a little less apparent and is a pretty detailing as it goes up and around your neck. Ties extend from just behind the peak of each triangle to tie behind the neck. It wraps around the waist and scoops low there. This leaves your entire back open and bare above that. I love this unexpected bare skin moment that is in stark contrast to the coverage at the front. The waist nips in and we have added a wide grosgrain ribbon to add a little more shape. The skirt deserves it own moment. It is made out of the same silk taffeta as the bodice. It explodes out from the waist to become incredibly full by the time it reaches the hem. Tiers of silk allow this expansion and there are five tiers in total. Each tier is finished with that same ruffled detail that you see around the halter neck and this really makes the dress special. Inside there is a silk lining and then another netted lining sits between the outer skirt and that inner layer. This helps to hold the volume that you see and it is spectacular. The photos on the dress form do not come close to doing it justice. This is a dress that needs an actual body in it and then it really comes to life. When you walk the taffeta rustles and the skirt swoops around to create this stunning billowing effect. Then when you turn to leave you have that flash of bare skin at the back. It is utterly amazing. Excellent condition

Oscar was known for his beautiful and feminine designs and this dress really showcases that. With our modern day obsession with all things eighties and nineties this play on proportions and fabrics still feels extremely of this moment fashion wise. Oscar had an amazing sense of aesthetics and his genius was in making women look and feel beautiful. This is the type of dress you can easily imagine in an editorial of the day on one of the reigning supermodels. It is just gorgeous

There are actually three fabric used in the making of this dress. The sleeves are a perfectly light in weight silk taffeta, the bodice is a black lace and then the skirt is a fine soft black silk with a very fine thin ribbing. The play on those three fabrics together is very romantic feeling. The neckline is scooped low and set wide across the shoulders at the front. At the back it has an even lower scoop out so that you get this great expanse of bare skin there. The sleeves are spectacular. They have built in tulle to help hold their volume and they are cut to be extremely full so that they billow out to just about the elbow. They have elastic running through the edges nearest to the shoulders and you can wear them up and on the shoulder like I have shot them here or I think you can also let them cascade down to leave each shoulder bare. The bodice is covered ion the black lace all the way around and I love the little lace peplum that circles the waist and balances out those sleeves. The skirt fall from under there in a beautiful curve to the floor. The skirt is finished in a fine stripe that I love. Inside the interior of the skirt there is an additional underskirt of silk organza that has a wide ruffled bottom that helps to hold the shape of the outer skirt. When you move the skirt shows it volume and movement beautifully. Excellent condition

This Oscar de la Renta dress is gorgeous. The Fall 2011 Oscar de la Renta Bridal collection was amazing and this was one of the star looks of the show. His wedding pieces range from about $10000-$20,000 USD with the more elaborate ones like this tending to be in the upper range of that. Oscar launched his first bridal collection in October of 2002 and his wedding pieces have been worn by some of the most famous women in the world. He once said 'In the same manner that she fell in love with that man, I hope she's going to fall in love with that dress.' Countless brides have done just that. This gown is absolutely beautiful and if you are a bride looking for that very full princess feel then this is the ultimate dress for that. It literally takes your breathe away when you see and hold it in person.

The skirt of the dress is magnificent. It is made from many yards of multiple layers of a white tulle silk netting. The strapless bodice above that is a slightly more ivory colour and it is stunning. It is completely covered with tiers of lace and little scalloped silk chiffon rows. I took close ups of the work done there for you to see. The edges of the lace are embroidered and there are tiny curvy rows of ivory iridescent sequins mixed in. If that wasn't enough there are also little rhinestones set in rows over the bodice. The top curves in a pretty sweetheart neckline and it has a full built in hidden corset inside the bodice so you don't have to worry about additional underpinnings. The bust is strapless and fitted across the bodice. It is cut to follow your curves and there are built in hidden cups inside to lift the breasts. It tightly hugs the bodice and then nips in at the waist. The waist is detailed with elaborate appliquéd 'belt' that is made from various faux pearls, silver tube beads and glass cut rhinestones in different shapes. For the runway presentation it was shown with a simple sash and I believe that this was a custom add on. The skirt is extremely full and that beautiful volume would float all around you. There are 12 layers of tulle in the skirt and many of the inner ones have a double hem finish at the bottom. Under all of that there is a silk taffeta inner skirt in a deeper ivory. If you look closely you can see that under the top two layers of tulle the skirt has been gathered up all around in little drapes. This gives it this depth in fullness that is incredible. It's a subtle detail that you can see through those top layers of skirts that is just absolutely genius. I did not add any additional crinolines to the dress for these photos. It has enough built in layers in the  skirt already that it falls on its own perfectly. Every angle that you look at this dress from gives you drama and gorgeousness. It is cut longer at the back so that it flows out behind you when you walk. If you wanted even more of a real princes gown feel I think you could have the inner layers starched and you would get even more volume. I love the bareness of the shoulders the strapless silhouette gives you. It is the perfect balance to that full on princess skirt. It is a very stunning gown and is a beautiful example of Oscar's work. Excellent condition with a minor note below

The bodice is boned with padded inner cups for structure and support. The dress closes at the back with a hidden set zipper. Multiple layers of built in tulle and skirting as described above. The hem of the inner skirt is grubby and some of the very inner layers of tulle have some marks at their hems and i see the very occasional small tear near the hem. You see none of these once on. It otherwise looks to have been worn very little if at all. Tagged an ODLR 8 but seems to be cut small

This one of the most spectacular dresses that Halston ever made and versions of it reside in The Metropolitan Museum collection and and another version was on display for the "Halston and Warhol: Silver and Suede Exhibit" in 2015. We have included those as well as several other reference photos documenting the various forms of this dress that he did. It is from his Spring 1981 and of this point Halston was still in full control of his brand. He had not yet signed the international licensing agreements that would be the beginning of his downfall in 1983. He was at the top of his game and anyone who was anybody was wearing the Halston label. His prices were sky high and the work put into the pieces was impeccable. This is a fabulous example of his work. from this time period

Halston's beaded and sequin pieces were being made in India during this time period where some of the best of this type of work was being done during this time period. Halston personally chose the fabrics and materials that were used for each piece of his collection and then sent them to India where they were beaded and sequinned to his specific instructions and assembled. The 1981 collection was especially intricate and the majority of the runway garments were heavily beaded and/or sequinned. This dress is absolutely gorgeous and all of the bead and sequin work on it is completely done by hand. Silver tube beads and pale iridescent sequins with just a touch of colour sequins are mixed with pastel blue and soft, pastel turquoise sequins. Then to define the edges of the pattern you have a series of faux pearls worked through the mix. Everything is laid out in an intricate and instantly recognizable pattern that covers the dress from neck to hem. Each bead and sequin has been hand applied onto an ivory silk chiffon base that has a touch of transparency. I love how it glitters and sparkles in the light from every angle. No matter how good this dress looks in the photos it is even better in person. The cut is easy and flattering to wear. The neckline is high and scooped and is edge with tightly space beads. It skims over the bust to the hips and then flares out just slightly as it nears the hem. The sleeves are cut slightly wider at the top and then barrow down to the wrist where they have same border of sequins as the neckline. It is amazingly comfortable to wear because of the easy cut. Every square inch of the dress is finished in that amazing pattern that combines curving rounded patterns with angled bands. I absolutely love it. Excellent condition

The dress is unlined and closes with a back set zipper. The bead work is completely hand done. The easy cut should fit a variety of sizes. It is incredible.

This is such a pretty little spring / summer set. Both pieces are made from a textured white fabric that feels like it has a bit of a cotton mix in it. The added texture in the fabric helps to hold its shape and sit perfectly once on the body. It is then detailed with the prettiest little pink and red rose print with a green stem and leaves. These tiny little flowers are scattered over both pieces. The jacket is tailored with a sleek and simple cut. The collar is neat and notched and it buttons down the front with matching fabric covered buttons. All of the buttonholes are properly made. The shoulders are lightly padded for shape and the sleeves are short and simple in feel. It curves in at the waist by the way that it seamed and then there are two decorative flaps on each hip. It is to curve out and over the hips and I love the pretty and feminine feel this gives the jacket. The skirt is simple in shape with an A-line cut and a band at the waist and hidden set zipper. The set is even prettier in real life than how it photoed and it is a perfect little suit for spring. Good condition with notes below

Both pieces are lined in a white silk. The jacket closes with four buttons at the front and the skirt zips to close at the back with hook & eye at the waistband. Light padding in the shoulders. A tiny bit of colour run to the fabric on the front of the jacket, faint marks under the arms inside and out, and perhaps a tiny faint mark here and there. All minor and it presents well. This dress is an incredible piece of Halston history. Its near twin walked the runway for the Resort 1982 show and version in white were shot for the press advance looks that year as well. The original sketch appears in one of the Halston books and it has the added provenance of the dress that was lent to and worn by Emmanuelle Chriqui in 2002. This is classic Halston from his main label couture line. It is incredibly chic and sexy and one of two important Halston pieces I have for you today. This is an incredible example of his work from this time period. 

This is an amazing couture Halston dress that is a very rare and special find. It is entirely cut on the bias and utilizes his signature minimal seaming. Halston defined how woman dressed in the 1970s and these jersey dresses that he did were tremendously flattering to the body. It is also insanely sexy with the cut out at the front that leaves your stomach bare. The fabric is a beautiful and very light black silk jersey that moves and drapes fantastically. The neckline is scooped with a piped edge that extends up and behind the neck where it hooks into place. On either side of the scoop at the front the fabric extends into panels that create a halter shape. The panels curve down on an angle and secure into the sides of the waist. This leaves the middle part of the stomach bare and open. The panels are then gathered into the piping at the top and wrap around the back in a low curve. The entire back is completely bare and exposed and it is so sexy. The skirt flares out from there and it has a ton of movement when you move. It is spectacular. The jersey is very fine and light and it is cut on the bias and there are yards of it in the skirt. I love that he cut the sides of the skirt slightly longer then the front so you get a bit of a sweeping feel around you. This also helps the skirt to pick up the air when you move so that it billows around you as you walk. Inside the skirt there is an inner layer of silk chiffon and that helps to soften out any bumps underneath the top layer and helps to make it very flattering to wear. This is a very rare example of Halston at the top of his game. It is easy to see why his work is the subject of so many books and retrospective shows at museums worldwide. Excellent condition with a tiny note below.

The bodice is made from two layers of the silk jersey and the skirt has an inner silk chiffon lining. The dress hooks to close with two set so of hooks and then it snaps and hooks below the back of the waist. Hand finished. I see some tiny, snags and pin holes along the hem here and there. The fabric has some stretch but the waist has no give.

This beautiful cape is from the Fall 1988 collection and several versions of it were shown on the runway that season. It was an integral piece to the direction of the show and we have included several photos from the runway. I personally have several versions of his capes myself and have worn them countless times. It is literally the perfect thing to pop over a dress at night time. It is a very versatile and easy-to-wear piece that is the perfect neutral that will work with everything.

The cape is in a very beautiful soft taupe and it is made from a high end wool that has a little bit of weight just due to the sheer amount of it in the cape but is still still comfortable and easy side to wear. The cape itself is effortless to make a part of your wardrobe. You just slip it over your shoulders and it drapes in place. The long and simple lines of it are perfect for a very minimalist feel while the sheer length and amount of fabric in it add all the drama of a cape. A stitched border highlights, the lines and seams of the coat and I love that the stitches are the perfect match to the colour so it really keeps within that minimalist feel. It has no collar and closes with one perfect colour matched button at the nape of the neck. There is a ton of fabric in the body of the cape so that when you move you get wonderful movement as it floats and billows around you. The cut is impeccable and it is a great piece of YSL's fashion history. Excellent condition

Unlined and has a button at the neck with no other closures. Tagged a 38 but there are no true defined shoulder seams and that combined with the open fit endure that will fit pretty much anyone. It even has an extra button sewn into the inner hem

This dress is very special and an extremely well documented piece from Spring 1988. It has the special added provenance of being the twin of one of the four dresses portrayed in that instantly recognizable photo taken in his atelier that year. That photo is perhaps one of the most famous photos in the Lacroix history. The dress is from his Luxe label that was only produced the very first couple of seasons. It was very high end expensive ready-to-wear that was made to near couture standards and was available primarily to his couture clients and a select few beyond that. It was the predecessor to his later regular ready-to-wear collections. It is said that this label only lasted a couple of seasons because some of the couture clients complained at how close the garments were to their Haute Couture pieces. We found numerous reference photos of the dress as it appeared on the runway so you have an amazing idea of how this dress looks on the body.

The dress is gorgeous. It is made out of a textured silk organza that has a slight texture running through it. Onto that is a glorious floral pattern in pinks and yellow with pops of green. It feels so vibrant and beautiful with that gorgeous print. The sleeves are long and they are cut on a slight curve in the traditional couture manner. The shoulders are lightly shaped and the front falls into a shallow V. The dress has a little bit of gathering just at the bust area down the centre seam and then it falls smoothly  to the hem under that. It is cut to skim over you through the body with just a suggestion of shape through the waist. At the back the bottom 9 inches of the skirt has an inset bustle. The fabric there is gathered into a curving seam and there are three black organza half bows stacked one on top of the other to create a bustle feel. This is one of his most famous dresses and its amazing. It appears to have been worn very little if at all. Excellent condition

The body of the dress is fully lined in a black silk and the sleeves are lined in a white silk. The dress zips to close at the back and each cuff has a zipper to close it. Light padding in the shoulders. Tagged a vintage Lacroix 44
