That same photo also makes an appearance in the book on his work titled \u003cem\u003e'Halston'\u003c\/em\u003e by Phiadon.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eI\u003cspan\u003ets twin is held in The Met Museum's collection (though they have their dated as being earlier which based on the Harper's photo appears to be inaccurate). \u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eAt this point in his career, pieces would have been made in very limited made-to-order quantities. It is an incredible example of his work from this time period. \u003c\/span\u003e \u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe jumpsuit has a soft and flowing feel to it and yet when you wrap the sash around you at the waist it still gives you shape.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt is made of an ivory silk chiffon with a ribbon effect that is fused directly into the silk. This gives the fabric the double texture that you see and it really plays on it transparent feel.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eWhere the jumpsuit is unlined through the upper bodice and sleeves you really see how you get a glimpse of the skin under the silk. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe main part of the bodice and the pants are hand lined in a nude silk chiffon so that the jumpsuit is not completely transparent.\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eThe bodice is cut to blouse softly over the waist and it closes with a series of hook \u0026amp; eye down the front. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIn the iconic Harper's shot it was left fully open and that is how I photoed it for most of these shots but also show it fully closed.\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe waist has an elastic through it and it is cut to sit loose and easy in the body. You can cinch in the waist as much as you wish with the matching sash belt.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eFrom the waist the pants flow to the floor. They skim over the hips and then fall in a very full and open wide cut pant. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe pants are on their original length\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan\u003e It is very well made and finished by hand and even better in person and on an actual body where the fabric can really move and flow as it was meant to. This would be a crowning pinnacle to someone's Halston collection or a beautiful part of a wedding event.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cspan\u003eThe body and pants are lined in a nude silk chiffon. Hand finished throughout. It close with a series of hooks and snaps down the front. It has its original long matching sash. I see the occasional little scuff on the satin ribbon parts which is normal vintage patina. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe ivory is slightly paler in person. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt otherwise looks to have been worn very little if at all. It is a very rare and amazing example of his work. \u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThere is no size tag so please go by the measurements below. The softness of it should allow it to work and drape on a range of sizes. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan\u003eExcellent condition\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSleeves: 14\" to the shortest point and 22\" to the longest.
