This gorgeous jacket is from the Fall 2015 collection. It was not a runway piece but it was not unusual for other pieces to be produced for retail by the brand. From his very first collection for the Fall of 2002 Alber brought a beautiful silhouette to the house that was flattering to women but still was very easy to wear. This is a great little piece that will add a bit of a pop to your wardrobe and is easy to mix in with your existing items.

This is an amazing little jacket that touches on the feel of those cropped 1940s 'chubby' with its cropped length and boxy cut but with a touch of the 70s mixed in with the horn buckles at the front. This length is very flattering on and the proportions perfectly balance out something slimmer worn underneath. It is made out of faux fur that is lovely and soft. A neutral beige ivory is mixed in with a deep crown black to create the pattern that you see. The 'fur' is longer for a bit of a shaggy feel. It is cut to be in more of a boxy shape on the body and the hem ends just at about the hip. There is no collar and it closes with horn toggles down the front. The sleeves are straight and perfectly balance out the box shape of the body. It looks to have never been worn and is gorgeous. Excellent condition.

This is a stunning and extremely rare example of the Haute Couture work being done by the house of Lanvin during the years that Antonio Castillo headed the atelier. Castillo started off his career at the houses of Paquin and Piquet. He also did a stint designing accessories for Chanel. He quickly became known as one of the most promising designers to emerge after WWII and that reputation was part of why he was chosen in 1950 to become the head designer at the House of Lanvin. The press at the time lauded him, along with Balmain, Dior and Balenciaga, as the new generation of the Paris Couture designers. During his time at Lanvin the house was known for the simple and elegant lines. This is a very rare and early Haute Couture coat and we found a reference photo of its near twin that was styled with a belt, dramatic gloves and matching hat added. It is very beautiful and the colour is exceptional.

This coat is beautifully tailored. The double row of buttons at the front and curving cut makes it feel as chic and wearable now as it was when first made. It is entirely finished by hand and has its numbered couture tape under the label. It is so chic and a very important and rare piece. This is truly a vintage gem. It has a deceptively simple cut that hides the precise seams and masterfully tailored cut. It is constructed with the absolute minimal seam work to create the curves of the coat that you see. It is more fitted through the upper bodice and then skims over the waist and flares out slightly as it nears the hem. The collar is neat with a notched front and each sleeve ends in a turned up cuff. A half belt is attached at the back and you could add a belt over it to emphasize the shape even more. The fabric is amazing with a soft finish to it. I believe it is an Alpaca or perhaps a type of cashmere and it is extremely luxurious. The fact that it is dyed that amazing blue makes it that much more brilliant. It is even better in person and the fabric has to be seen and felt to truly be appreciated. This fabric choice allowed Castillo to be able to sculpt the exact shape that he desired. The front has detailed seaming that becomes part of the actual design and inside that is a double row of blue buttons that run down the front to the waist. You can wear this one open or do it up right to the neck like the reference photo. I love the sculptural effect the coat has once on and that beautifully full lower skirting. No shortcut was taken in the construction of this lovely coat and it is an outstanding piece of fashion history in every possible way. Excellent condition.

This dress was designed by Belgian-born Jules-Francois Crahay, who headed the Lanvin ateliers from 1964-1984. He has been noted as one of fashion’s 'great colorists with his colorful patterns making his 1970s Lanvin designs hugel​y ​desirable and influential.' His time at the Lanvin label is one of my personal favourites for the house. I especially love the his work during the period through the late sixties and into the early 1970s. He was a genius at print and colour and he pushed the envelope in terms of using cutting edge fabrics available during this time period. This dress is from the early part of the 1970s and it is incredible. The Lanvin label is numbered and it is made to demi-couture standards. I love it.

This dress is incredibly beautiful in person. The camera really cannot do it justice. It is made from a fine blue silk tulle that has a floral pattern embroidered over its surface in the same blue. The entire dress is lined in a purple silk and this gives it this very unusual colour that lies somewhere between a deep blue and purple. A metallic gold thread was then embroidered over parts of the floral design. Around the entire lower skirt is a dense application of the gold with two wide panels completely covered in a open chain link design. These circle around the entire hem and lower skirt with more of the floral netting in between. The result is fantastic and I think in person the effect is far stronger then how it photoed. I love how the gold catches the light from every angle. The bodice skims over you and the sleeves are long. Each sleeve has a subtle poufed effect above its elastic cuff that would show more once on an actual body. The waist is seamed but cut more loose and easy. If you wanted a more defined shape you could easily add a ribbon or a belt. The skirt falls to the floor from there and widens out as it nears the hem.  Besides adding beautiful detail those added panels of gold at the hem also help to give just a touch of weight and help the skirt hold its volume and shape. It is very light in weight and just stunning. Far better person then the camera is doing it justice. The fabric has so much texture and the metallic bits pick up the light perfectly. Gorgeous. Excellent condition 

Fully lined in a purple silk chiffon through the top and a purple silk through the skirt. It closes with a back hand set zipper and there is elastic in each cuff. Hand finishes and hand finished inner seams mixed with machine work. The label is numbered. It looks to have been worn very little if at all. The bias cut of the lining and the net give it a little give so I have put the comfortable range of measurements where it will give a bit.

Valentino launched his ready-to-wear label in 1962 two years after opening his atelier in Rome. He eventually expanded and added other boutiques. His first New York boutique launched in the fall of 1970 and it caused a sensation. Traffic was backed up 3 blocks with everyone who was anyone trying to get in on opening night. More boutiques followed including one at Bergdorfs. He encouraged his couture clients to also shop in his boutiques. He wanted everyone to have the Valentino experience and noted that he often carried the lines he created for his Couture label into the boutique work. The fabric and construction details were still remarkably close in quality to his couture pieces at this point in time. The line between the two was often blurred and on this set you can see that in the hand finishing that is has. I absolutely love this set. It is gorgeous.

The dress is made out of a black silk that holds its shape and volume beautifully. This is a two piece set made up of a dress and its matching jacket. They are fantastically beautiful worn together but I also love that by having the two pieces it gives you more styling options and you can wear then separately and mix and match with other things you already own. The dress is suspended by two tiny straps that curve up and over each shoulder. A wide set V sits at the front and then it dips lower across at the back to leave a bare expanse of open skin. It is cut to be more fitted to the waist and then under that it is all volume. The skirt has an incredible amount of silk in it that really shows best when you move. The lightness of the silk causes the skirt to billow out and move around you as you move, yet it still has enough weight that it holds that full feeling when you stand still. When this is on and you are walking the effect that this creates is absolutely gorgeous. A full 13" ruffle circles the lower hem and it has been sewn is on top of the skirt and not simple seamed onto the edge. This is a clever technique that leaves fabric inside and behind the skirt and this helps to hold its shape. This uses extra fabric so it's not something you see as much anymore. And it has pockets. The jacket is a thing of beauty in its own right. It widens out from a soft shoulder and curves around and up from the hem to the neckline. I love the tiny ruffled finish that follows the edge. The sleeves are incredible and each is cut to be a wide bell shape. By their ends they are each a full 20" around and the ruffle that finishes each sleeve is a little more then that even. It is absolutely beautiful. This is a stunning Valentino from this time period. Excellent condition.

Today I have two for you and each is an example of the two shades that they were made in. This is the bit darker gold one and it is not perfect but it is perfectly wearable still. This is from the Halston IV line and is a made from a gold lurex lame. I always love when I find these. I have had the twin of this piece a couple of times now in the shop and they always get snatched up immediately. The simple classic design makes it an easy way to be instantly dressed up and still entirely comfortable. Rachel Zoe owns one and she has worn and posted herself wearing hers a few times on her Instagram account. It just proves that this is an incredible and glamorous staple piece that you can wear again and again.

Both of the caftans that I have today are also the versions that have the tighter weave of the lame. This one is also in its original uncut length. Whenever I get these metallic ones I feel that they are just that little bit extra special over the jersey versions. It is a dress that is so easy to wear. It can go from the beach, to entertaining at home with flats, to full on evening glamour. The caftan is cut deceptively simple with a slit front neck and a second slit that goes up the centre seam at the front from the hem for a flash of bare leg. It sits is loose over the body and it is meant to skim over you to the floor. The sleeves come out directly from the body of the caftan and then narrow down towards the wrist. The skirt flows to the floor and widens out as it reaches the hem. The waist is open and easy. If you wanted more definition you could easily add a belt to add shape. This is a wonderful piece with all the minimalist lines that we all love about Halston. Good overall condition with notes below

Unlined and slips on to wear. The fabric has a slight transparency to it. The loose and easy cut should allow it to fit a range of sizes. This one has some small flaws so it is less than half the price of the other.  There is a tiny repair on the shoulder near the seams and some  small horizontal pull lines. Giorgio Sant'Angelo was the winner of two Coty Awards and two Council of Fashion Designers of America honours. He was known for his innovation and pioneering use of stretch fabrics and unusual textiles in how work. He has had an entire museum exhibit dedicated to his work and career and his name is firmly entrenched as one of the great designers of his time period. His work captured a moment in fashion history and his love of colour and strong lines will forever be collectible. Pieces reside in museums worldwide including an extensive collection at The Met Museum. This is an exceptionally pretty piece from him and I love it.

The dress is made out of a soft red bias cut silk chiffon that sits over a second pink layer of silk chiffon. The colour this creates as the layers float over each other is the prettiest. I love that when you move you see that unexpected flash of pink. Both layers are completely cut on the bias and they float over each other perfectly to drape over the body. It is incredible. It is as light as a feather and the dress feels wonderful once on the body. The neckline is high and gathered around the neck and then there is a long keyhole at the back that leaves a bare expanse of skin showing. It is cut loose and easy through the body and we have added a wide grosgrain ribbon in a matching red for some shape but I also included a photo of the dress without the ribbon so you can see how it has a bit of a caftan feel if you choose to wear it not belted. It skims over the body and then falls in this extravagant swoosh of bias cut silk to the floor. It is cut very long and the bias cut of it lets it swirl around the body underneath and at the same time it feels insanely comfortable on because the fabric weighs ounces. The sleeves are incredible. Each is cut wide and straight and extends out from the shoulder. They are cut very low on each side and you can see that when you belt the dress that the bottom of the sleeves end up starting just above the waist. They also have that inner lining of pink so you get that flash of colour there as well. The perfect finishing detail on this dress are the inset panels that run all through the skirt. They start just below the top of the hips and extend all the way down to the floor. The panels add incredible volume to the lower skirt. If you laid out flat it is more than a full skirt circle of fabric. When you move the fabric swirls and floats around you with the slightest bit of air. It is stunning. The photos give you a tiny sense of that but in person and on the body it is so much better. The easy cut is immensely flattering once on and should work an a wide variety of shapes. This is a dress you will want to wear over and over for every summer occasion from day to evening. It is truly a remarkable dress that is hands down one of my favourite pieces ever. Made from two layers of silk chiffon as described above. It closes with hook & eye at the back of the neck. The ribbon in the photos is not original to the dress but will be sent with it. There are some repairs at the tops of the gussets along the skirt and at the base of the keyhole. Please see the photos after the label shot. Hand finished throughout. The bias cut does have some stretch so should fit a variety of sizes. it will just drape more on a smaller frame and come up a little bit in length on a larger.

This fantastic cape is from the Fall 1976 collection and several versions of it were produced that season including this deep purple one. We have included photos from the runway pieces here and we also found an ad campaign shot with its twin in what looks to be a lighter colour and included that for you to see as well. I personally have several versions of his capes myself and have worn them countless times. It is literally the perfect thing to pop over a dress at night time. It is a very versatile and so easy to wear piece.

The cape is in a very beautiful deep purple that has a fuchsia undertone combined with a more maroon edging. The fabric is a high end wool that has a little bit of weight just due to the sheer amount of it in the cape but is still  still comfortable and easy side to wear. The cape itself is effortless to make a part of your wardrobe. You just slip it over your shoulders and it drapes in place. A slightly oversized hood extends out from the neck and this added addition of the hood adds the perfect amount of detail and drama. A flat blue braided rope finished all the edges and I love the elaborate braided knot that closes it in place at the neck. A long fringed tassel sits on either side of that closure for added drama and an even longer tassel dangles down from the hood at the back. I love the bit of movement these create when you move. There is a ton of fabric in the body of the cape so that when you move you get wonderful movement as it floats and billows around you. The cut is impeccable and it is a great piece of YSL's fashion history. Excellent condition with a small note below
