Fantastic Spring 2012 Emilio Pucci by Peter Dundas Runway Look 10 Coral Print Open Back Dress
- The twin of this dress was presented for Look 10 for the Spring 2012 Pucci collection
- It was made under the creative direction of Peter Dundas.
- Besides being featured on the runway, it has substantial documentation from that season. It was used in the ad campaign, was worn on red carpets and shot for editorials that season. It was a dress that was wait-listed and sold out.
- I love that all the various reference photos and videos give you an amazing idea of how gorgeous this is on the body.
- The dress is made out of a gorgeous fabric that is a mix of a fine black mesh for the base and then it has the classic Pucci jersey fused on top of the mesh netting to form the pattern that you see covering the dress. Having the pattern portion of the fabric applied on top of the netting gives it a little bit of added texture. There are touches of transparency through the various parts of the design. The dress is lined with both a nude and black stretch silk so that it is opaque enough to wear but there is still the illusion of being more bare between the jersey parts than you actually are.
- The sleeves are not lined in the extra layer of nude silk and I love how this let you see a flash of skin behind the black mesh.
- The fabric has a touch of stretch and this makes it extremely comfortable to wear and be fitted to the body.
- The back is phenomenal. It hooks at the back of the neck and then there is a deeply plunging and open back that leaves a large expanse of skin bare and exposed.
- The front neck is scooped and sits higher up across the neck. The shoulders are soft and the sleeves are long.
- It skims over the bust and waist with simple darts adding shape around the bust area. From there it curves back out over the hips and falls to the floor.
- The bottom flares out quite a bit so you have some movement around you when you move. You can see that on the runway video. The back is cut slightly longer than the front so you get a pretty sweeping feel behind you.
- The back is fully open and the scoop is deep. I love the shock of that bare skin when you turn around. How low it sits is really dependent on your height and length of your torso. I have provided the measurement from the neck to the base of the scoop below for you.
- This is a gorgeous example of Peter's time at the label.
- The dress is fully lined in two layers of silk chiffon. A black layer sits directly under the outer layer and then there is a nude layer against the skin. It slips on to wear with hook and eye at the back of the neck, otherwise it has no closures. The jersey has some stretch and I have put the comfortable range of measurements below. Its easy fit and stretch should allow it to fit a range of sizes. It is in its original uncut length. It appears to have been worn very little, if at all.

SIZE GUIDE
Please review all measurements carefully. More often than not, vintage garments do not fit any size category exactly. If in doubt, measure a garment of your own that fits and is a similar cut and compare it's measurements to the listed measurements below.
