What I love about England is how diverse the landscapes, styles & accents can be within just a thirty-minute train ride. Besides London, one of the most inspiring places is Liverpool. Paul McCartney says it's the centre of the universe and at times it can feel that way. It is literally another world!
Liverpool's heritage is visible at every turn even as the city continues to sprawl into, and regenerate- it's led by the city's creatives. It is no wonder that some of the most inspiring bands, from The Beatles to Echo & The Bunnymen, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, & The Zutons have all emerged from this enlivening city.
Encouraged by Liverpool's art scene & rich music history - I decided it would be the perfect backdrop to wear some of my favourite British pieces from Shrimpton Couture.
I walked down the cobbled streets towards The Cavern Club, the birthplace of the Beatles in the most incredible Jeff Banks Balloon Sleeve Shirt (Click here to shop!). The semi-transparent crepe chiffon is subtly sexy, while the floral print really gives it a slight psychedelic feel. Definitely a special piece!
After experiencing the historical side of Liverpool, I then happened upon the emerging streets- full of art by local artists- while wearing a Lee Bender for Bus Stop dress (Click here to shop!). As Bus Stop has always been a source of inspiration for me- I was thrilled to slip this on! Lightweight, printed, yet sheer- it is such a feminine piece! My favourite design detail: the pointed collar - which really represents the era.
