I must confess, I have a closet stacked with denim: from boyfriend, to bell bottom & everything in between. It all started with my first trip to Europe. I had gone to tour my University, the London College of Fashion & decided to pop over to Paris for a very impromptu, badly researched weekend away. Due to a very poor ‘hotel’ choice – I spent most of my time in Paris wandering, hoping I would run into Pete Doherty & Kate Moss. Instead, I stumbled upon this incredible vintage shop run by a couple of young, picturesque French women who could have made velour jumpsuits look chic. They wore timeless, well-cut, and classic denim jeans & I was so inspired by the subtle-sexiness of them, that I surrendered my Champagne fund & purchased my very own vintage Calvin’s.
Since the beginning - jeans have been transformative. Season after season we see them on the runway taking on different silhouettes, androgynous shapes, and revolutionizing the way we incorporate denim into our everyday look.

I feel like this dramatic Gucci shirt is neatly hung in Jane Birkin’s closet, or has been thieved & taken on tour with Charlotte Gainsbourg. Either way, I’m obsessed with it.
I paired this Kimono Sleeved Gucci Top from Shrimpton Couture with a 70s Calvin Klein denim skirt (thanks Mom!) and suede thigh-high boots from H&M.

I love pairing my ‘Canadian Tuxedo’ with some crazy print. In this case I wore my thrifted high-waisted Levi’s with a Topshop Chambray shirt & layered the look with a 60s velvet Pucci Jacket from Shrimpton Couture. To finish the look – I threw on my favourite booties, customized with daisies by Toronto-based artist, Jillian Kovacik.

This beautiful sequin Yves Saint Laurent Jacket from Shrimpton Couture is such a statement piece. I paired it with a cashmere turtleneck from Club Monoco, a pair of high-waisted Bongo Jeans and Repetto patent leather loafers from Ssense.
