In exactly twelve days our lives will become inundated with holiday parties, festive get-togethers, and work events. A tiring cycle of cocktails, secret Santa & fruit cakes. Holiday dressing is really my favourite time of year. The clothing you choose for the holiday season can really put you in that festive spirit. It is a time to really up the ante, let loose & most importantly: feel confident and beautiful in the pieces that you choose.
Here are a few Stylist suggestions to help you along on your hunt for the perfect party outfit!
Make an Entrance:
This 1970s Ombré Sequin Ruben Parnis dress from Shrimpton Couture is such a stand out. The ombré effect is so modern and cool. Pair with Zara's black faux-fur jacket and simple high heel shoes with ankle straps.
Invest in a LBD:
An essential purchase for the holiday season is a little black dress. Since its easy to fall into a sea of black dresses at a party- I like to choose one that is truly singular, like Alexander McQueen's Resort 2010 Tailored Coat/Dress available at Shrimpton Couture. What I love about this is that it can be worn so many ways, with so many pieces. Personally, I would wear it as a dress with Stuart Weizman's 'Highland Boot' and accessorize with a cool Vena Flowing Ear Cuff from Canadian Designer, Laurie Flemming.
Choose a Print:
Find an alternative to the holidays' typical colour scheme by choosing a print. I absolutely love this 1970s Lanvin Printed 3 Piece Pant Suit, available at Shrimpton Couture. I would dress it up by lightly accessorizing with Etro's Agate & Resin Choker and a selection of delicate rings, like the Elephant Hair ring by Erica Weiner. Finish the look with the perfect black heel, like the Sorbara Pumps from Aldo.
