Dressing for the 2015 Oscars!
Esme Peach has the kind of name that a girl should have if she is going to love vintage. You hear her name and you instantly know that she can make a vintage dress her own. She contacted me a month or so before the Oscar's with a wish list of dresses to wear to the many events she was attending during awards season. She was to attend a slew of events with her guy, Orlando von Einsiedel. Orlanda was nominated for his spectacular work as the director (and writer) on the film, Virunga.
This was the first time Esme shopped with me and it was a big leap of faith to buy so many pieces, not just from a new place she had not yet shopped at before, but to buy online without being able to try things on and work her way through her wishlist. We kind of became e-friends as the emails flew back and forth as we narrowed her list of choices to what would work best. I helped with all her questions to make sure that what she did choose would work once they arrived. It can be a scary prospect for new clients to go through but Esme knew her body and more importantly, knew what she loved, and as a vintage lover had a great idea of fit already. She ended up choosing the three dresses you see here (and a couple of more) and then the fun really began!
The little silk floral dress went to the Producer's Guild of America breakfast and the red number to the PGA Awards themselves. The 1970s silk turquoise, which was always one of my favorites, was saved for the pinnacle event of the season - the Oscar's themselves!
Esme you looked amazing in every single dress and I was so proud to have been a small part of all of these fantastic events.
PS if you have not yet seen the film Virunga, please make time to do just that. It is streaming on netflix and you can get to it here. If you want to learn more about the film - click here to get to their home page
