For anyone that follows my weekly Curated style posts, or is familiar with my personal style knows that I have a flare for the dramatics. Joan Collins once told me to always 'over-dress' and I've been following that goddess-given advice ever since.

When my box of Shrimpton goodies were on the way - Cherie gave me a head's up that there would be a surprise Zandra Rhodes selection that she wanted to include. When it arrived I thought... How can I pull this off? It seems so sculptural & maybe a little too dramatic, even for me!

Well, I was wrong. The second I slipped it on over a simple white tshirt, paired with my trusted skinny's - I fell in love. [Cherie, you were right!]

The cut and hand-painted detailing of this 70s Zandra Rhodes jacket is just so stunning. The curved swirls are accompanied by beautiful bead work & finished with a little hook for closure. Although oversized, it didn't drown me- the structural shape added the perfect amount of panache to my look.

The lesson I learned: take a chance! Try a piece on even though you think it may be too much for you- chances are, you're wrong. Embrace your inner Joan!
