* The Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts is celebrating its 50th year with an exhibition at the MoMu, the city’s fashion museum. 80 pieces will be on display and will be a mix of old and new. We maybe, might have, sourced a piece or two for this museum so it will be fun to get the lowdown of what pieces were chosen! Maybe there is a little Shrimpton on there somewhere! It runs now until Feb 16th
* From punk rock one of the grand couturier's Charles Worth, The Met is certainly doing a 180!"Charles James: Beyond Fashion will show off the work of a less-remembered designer who is still regarded as a genius by those in the know." is how Style.com put it and we are already salivating at the thought and bummed that we have to wait until May. MAY - that is months and months away. Les sigh.
* Fashionista has a great interview with Lauren Ezersky, the host of the series Behind the Velvet Rope, which ran from 1989 to 2012. Lauren interviewed everyone who was anyone and you gotta give it to her for a hell of a run. There's video too - so def worth the jump.
* Nicolas Ghesquière is being sued by former employer Blaneciaga for making "harmful" comments about the house. What he said that irked them so was ""It all became so dehumanized," the designer said of his work at the house. "Everything became an asset for the brand, trying to make it ever more corporate — it was all about branding. . . . I began to feel as though I was being sucked dry, like they wanted to steal my identity while trying to homogenize things. It just wasn't fulfilling anymore." OHHH so bad huh? Personally I think Cristobal is rolling in his grave right now. They should concentrate on trying ot become a grand house again rather then this nonsense.
