* We are devastated that Rachel Zoe is calling it quits on her show The Rachel Zoe Project. It's been reported that she always intended it to be about fashion and styling and she feels it was never really allowed to go that route. We have to agree but will still miss seeing her on the tube!
* The Telegraph UK ran a story that the house of Yves Saint Laurent may be poised for a return to the haute couture runways. Olivia Bergman reports " Last month, Hedi Slimane told Vogue Paris that "Haute couture is a legitimate subject for Yves Saint Laurent and could resume one day" but it seems the preparations are already well underway." Note the use of Yves people - looks like Hedi wont be messing with the iconic house's name when it comes to couture! Yves closes the couture division of the atelier in 2002. No hard confirmation yet but we would love to see the Yves back on a label!
* From WWD comes the story that Cher is fashion besties with Bob Mackie again! It was officially announced that he will be creating the stage wear for her next tour. The duo met in 1967 and have created fashion gossip fodder ever since! We think this quote from Mr Mackie himself says it all “It’s not like dressing a regular person — it’s like dressing a crazy goddess,” Mackie said. “Sometimes she’s an Egyptian goddess and sometimes she’s a biker chic goddess.”
* We love love love a great book on fashion and cannot wait to delve into the pages of Simon Doonan's latest “The Asylum: A Collage of Couture Reminiscences…and Hysteria,” available Sept. 3. In it he links fashion and madness, in the literal sense of the word. We have already set a reminder to buy!
