The House of Adair was a French design house that produced beautifully beaded flapper dresses for the North American and European markets. All the example I have ever seen have been twenties pieces. They actually made copies of Haute Couture gowns for export to the United States and Canada and designers of that time period did their best to stop them from doing this. Interesting that some things never change in fashion!

Here at Shrimpton Couture we have sold a stunning beaded jacket from this label (above). It was a wonderful example of the fine work they produced. It really showcased the love of intricate design work and the use of color that prevails in the majority of the pieces found with this label. Below are some other stunning examples of pieces produced by the House of Adair that have been sold from various auctions houses over the years.

Adair pieces are wonderfully collectable and sound investments pieces!
