Last summer I was contacted by Britney who wanted to know if the turn-of-the-century beaded silk and net gown was strong enough to be able to hold up for a wedding. Whenever I have a client contact me about wearing vintage as a potential wedding dress I am so honored to play even a small part in their day that I get almost as nervous as the bride myself! I was very happy to be able to tell her that, yes, this gown would hold up as long as she was a tad careful and off it went to her!
few months later I was sent a link to a folder of some of the most beautiful wedding photos I have ever had the privilege to see. Britney and her husband Mica were married at the historic Lougheed Mansion in Calgary, Alberta. Britney told me that they chose this location because it shares many features and has the same incredible character as the 1912 home they live in now. The Lougheed Mansion was built in 1892 and that, combined with her love of that by-gone era prompted the amazing atmosphere that they created for their wedding day! Her daughters Mazzy and Piper, the gorgeous twosome you see in these photographs, wore dresses that complimented Britney's stunning antique gown. The event was intimate with only 90 guests and lots of beautiful, angelic children running through the house "just as I pictured the children of the day of the house doing"
I am so happy to be able to share these images with you!
Britney, the entire team at Shrimpton Couture wishes your family infinite amounts of love and happiness.
Thank you very much for allowing us into your life that day!
