At this time as a way of introducing myself I thought you might want to know what’s in store for you in the coming months:
Pillars of Fashion: they are the dynamic players who are responsible for what fashion is as we know it today. Personalities include designers, models, photographers and behind the scenes creatives who are still active in the business or who have gone on to become legends.
The Impossible Conversations: these are a series of “chats” with some of the greatest fashion legends of the past. Have you ever wondered what the greats would think of fashion in the 21st century? Well, here is your chance to gain some intuitive insights on the topic.
Future Vintage: this series will be about 21st century designers and those who might be considered vintage in the next generation. The cast of players will be some designers that you may know and some of whom will be unfamiliar with but are of special note due to their exquisite talents.
All in all, I promise you a wide variety of topics with an amazing array of talents that inhabit the world of fashion … past, present and future!

Impossible Conversations - Coco Chanel
For the first installment of “Impossible Conversations”... I thought it only fitting to start off with possibly the most influential designer of the 20th century. Mademoiselle Chanel was also one of the most opinionated of designers and certainly known for her bon mots concerning fashion. Here is what she might have said if these questions could be posed to her today…..
(*Please note that the letter "Z" replaces the "TH" sound)
JF- WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE PRESENT STATE OF FASHION?
CC- Dreadful, all Zese new designers do is copy. Zay have no original ideas…pathetic, triste…zay know so little of construction and what a woman looks good in.. I might even have been forced to like zat vache Schiap if she lived today
JF- WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE CELEBRITY/MODEL IDEA?
CC- Absurd to zink zat a movie star can design or sell clothes , disgraceful zat designers give ze clothes away to zese ugly young celebrity/girls who cannot even stand straight and need to wear panties and hose. Women need to buy clothes not borrow zem, zer jewels should belong to zem not to ze jeweler! Zis is a travesty to see zese women who say zay are house fraus...zay are animals, classless, tasteless. Most of zem look like cheap prostitutes and zat ….what’s her name...Spooki...oh no...Shnookie...ah merde…. Snookie …. Incroyable! And zat KK.. bah!
JF- WHAT’S YOUR ADVICE TO NEW TALENT?
CC- One must listen to zeir heart and design what zay believe to be right and not what the trend is and make women beautiful , not freaks for magazine editors and ze press
JF- WHAT WAS YOUR CROWNING ACHIEVEMENT?
CC- Of course the Chanel tailleur (suit) and my accessories
JF- WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE DESIGNER?
CC- Zis is easy …moi !
JF- WITH WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO SPLIT A BOTTLE OF CHAMPAGNE? NAME ONE OR MORE
CC- Possibly zat bitch Schiaparelli, ze poor tortured man Alexander McQueen, Thierry Mugler, Alber Elbaz et peut-etre Karl
JF- WHO DO YOU THINK “BORROWED” FROM YOUR WORK MOST SUCCESSFULLY?
CC- So many copy my work from Guess jeans to Marc Jacobs; to Dolce& Gabbana…much easier to say...who has not copied my work …ze real question is who has used it well?
JF- DO YOU THINK FASHION IS TAKEN TOO SERIOUSLY?
CC- Fashion must be fun and not to struggle over, style cannot be purchased and showing a style in a magazine does not mean it is stylish or for you, fashion should look effortless and most of all women need to look at zemselves honestly and see ze truth!
