Television actress Sandra White laughs while arriving late at the 1953 Academy Awards.

Since the very first Academy Award ceremony in 1929, the esteemed event has been acclaimed not only for honouring great artists and entertainers but also for the art worn by the world’s most admired celebrities. The thrill of watching all our favourite performers and artists interact in one room on one stage is magical. Award season is one of my favourite times of year for that very reason. It’s a beautiful occurance in which visionaries – of film, fashion, music writing and performance intersect for one glamorous night to celebrate the art of story telling. Over the years, we have watched as these stories, awards and the way we enjoy them have evolved. While putting this post together, I marveled at how awards shows will forever serve as a time capsule of iconic celebrity couplings, vintage fashions and some of the most culturally influential individuals and art to date. With the Golden Globes just passed, we have the 86TH annual Academy Awards to look forward to. It’s always a fun to scope out who’s wearing vintage on the red carpet!
