Early 19th Century Lame & Net Shawl

An amazing early textile that is as profoundly beautiful as when it was produced. Fine black silk net has been completely edged with a real metallic thread and a fine metal cording. Edged on all sides with delicate hand work to create a stunning floral design. The use of the heavier cord and the lighter almost gossamer feeling thread create two tones of silvery-gold. A remarkable example of early hand work and stunning!

Hand made silk net shawl with fine hand work to make the metallic thread edgings. I find two tiny breaks in the net.

Note that antique and twenties pieces are final sale. They will be packed exceedingly well and we only sell pieces that will stand up to the stress of shipping, however, having pieces potentially shipped multiple times through multiple customs and countries is too hard on garments that are historically important and deserve to be treated with love and care. Please purchase accordingly.

SIZE GUIDE

Please review all measurements carefully. More often than not, vintage garments do not fit any size category exactly. If in doubt, measure a garment of your own that fits and is a similar cut and compare it's measurements to the listed measurements below.
