1960s French Hand Bead & Rhinestone Net Gown

This is an exquisite 1960s net sheath whose exterior is covered with hand done bead work. Made of two layers of a fine pale pink net with flowers adoring its surface. You would rarely see this level of handwork on a piece today and if you did it would cost far more! ! Each flower is a beautiful dense portrait with tube beads, faux pearls, sequins and rhinestones forming a raised 3D effect blossom. These cover the entire dress on both the front and back. Along each side on both the front and back and around the collar is a thick banding of pearls, rhinestones and beads. There is a high slit on either side of the leg and it otherwise falls in a perfect column. This was purchased in France and worn one time and stored flat since. It is a remarkable example of the fined hand work being done during this time period and is quite beautiful. You can change the look depending on the hue you wear under the netting. Excellent condition.

Unlined and closes with a side painted metal and nylon zipper. One shoulder snaps to close with net covered snaps. I have photoed it over a 1930s pink silk slip that I am happy to include if you wish to have it. Hand finished and all the bead work is hand done. There may be the occasional bead missing but it presents perfectly with no outstanding issues! Carefully stored.
