1950s Red & Gold Silk Brocade Coat

This is perhaps one of the most beautiful vintage coats I have ever had in the shop. It is made from a stunning, jaw dropping Asian red silk, very luxurious quality silk inside and out. Woven through the exterior is† gold threading depicting pots, dragons & symbols - all done in slight relief so they have a subtle 3D quality to them. The sleeves have huge wide cuffs that you may wear up as shown or down for a longer sleeve. All the edges of the coat are finished with gold piping. The inside as as delicious as the out - it has a solid red silk lining with quilted stitching all along the inside edges and under the back collar. I think what I love best is the combination of the best of the East for the fabric and design, with the decidedly Western nod to the great designers that worked with this classic scultural swing silhouette - the Balenciaga's and Dior's! Truly a one of a kind, wonderful piece. Excellent condition. Item # C168

Please review all measurements carefully. More often than not, vintage garments do not fit any size category exactly. If in doubt, measure a garment of your own that fits and is a similar cut and compare it's measurements to the listed measurements below.
