Please take a minute and read my guide to how I measure everything! You can find it in the bottom row of links on every page of the site.
I measure the actual garment so that you can compare it to one of your own that fits you perfectly, rather then trying to sort countless sizing vintage methods into modern day standards.
I then sorted everything into these size charts and into size categories for you to use as a guideline to help you shop quicker!

1960s Gold Oscar De La Renta
This is a fantastic 1960s gown from Oscar De La Renta! Its is shockingly light - I know it looks like it should not be with the gold - at first glance it appears to be a brocade, but the fabric is actually feather weight silk, upon which gold thread has been worked in so that the entire gown glows when you move. The pattern is fantastic - blues, greens and purples with shots of hot pink, but they are all muted and washed so you get a soft pretty effect. The upper bodice and sleeves are left so that there is not gold giving a nice contrast, Those sleeves also cuff in at the wrist so that the fabric above billows out a bit. The styling possibilities are endless with this beauty and it is shockingly fresh and modern still. Current Oscar De La Renta pieces can fetch many thousands so buying a vintage piece is a excellent alternative and a smart investment move as well. Honestly, I have probably under priced this gown so snap it up while you can! Its in mint condition and a true joy to have pass though my hands!
