1960s Silk Travilla Ruffle Dress

1960s Silk Travilla Ruffle Dress

Travilla is renowned as being the dresser of Marilyn Monroe and his pieces are very hard to find. This one is a couturiers dream. It is entirely constructed of silk chiffon and has an almost boudoir quality to it. Its a nice larger size and extremely flattering on It has insanely fabulous tiers of ruffled silk chiffon with almost distressed edging on each sleeve and down the front and around the hem. The sleeves have been left sheer and the shoulder backed with nude colored lining while the base of the dress is backed in black silk. It actually zips up the front to close allowing you to wear it done up tot he neck or let it lunge right tot he waist if you wish. Its extremely well made and perhaps even worn by a starlet in grand old Hollywood!
