1980s Oscar De La Renta Gown
This gown is just unbelievable. Known for his delicate, opulent designs, this gown will make Oscar fans weep with joy. A heavily beaded bodice is shaped like a butterfly, over which is sheer silk chiffon. The back is slit open to the waist. The skirting is black silk velvet and made into a sweeping modified mermaid shape. The beaded portion of the gown is quite heavy and so has been constructed with a strap to slip over the head to hold it firmly in place. There are no other fasteners for the beaded portion so your side and back are left bare except for the silk chiffon overlay! The gown has many couture touches like a proper dressmakers, hidden grosgrain ribbon trim, inside the waist that fastens to hold the dress in the exact proper place when worn.

There is no bead loss - the gown appears unworn. The skirt is fully lined closes with a back zipper. The bodice closes with a snap & hook at the neck. It should be dry cleaned when cleaned in the future.
