1950s Green Silk Dot Dress

1950s Green Silk Dot Dress

What a stunning dress and in the most vibrant, lovely colorway. Green abstract dots sit atop a pretty aqua backdrop. The dress is extremely well made and came from the same estate as the lovely brocade dress just listed. The seaming is impeccable and is typical of the more structured shapes of the time. The dress has not been styled with any additional crinolines under it - it will retain its beautiful shape exactly as shown when worn! I love the little bit of extra seaming detail through the bust line and the gusseted arms. All those extra wide flat pleats that flow out from an inverted V waist at the back add the perfect amount of femininity to this lovely piece!

Bust: 18" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Waist:13" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Hips: Free
Bodice length: 15" from shoulder to waist seam
Skirt length: 28" from waist seam to hem

The dress is made of silk and is unlined through the bodice. The skirt is lined and has an attached tulle crinoline as well. The garment closes with a back painted metal zipper. It should be dry cleaned when cleaned in the future.
