Rare 1920s Gold Lame & Silk Fringe Shawl
Showstopping, highly collectible 1920s real metallic gold and silver thread lame shawl is a masterpiece and really a work of art. It has the added decadence of silk fringe that makes it amazing! The entire surface has an almost reptile skin feel to it. Very unusual. It also mixes different tones of gold and a almost silver thread in the pattern. Again very unusual. Marvel at the close up shots and know that it is still 100% better in person! The fluidity of the fabric cannot be conveyed and it has a rich, luxurious feel to it. The silk and lame are both strong and true and there are no flaws or holes.It is strong and wearable and is a very high end, excellently constructed garment. Excellent, museum quality and rare.
This was lovingly stored properly and looks new almost 100 years later. Perhaps a touch pf tarnish to the thread here and there but this is natural patina and only adds tot he beauty of this fabric.
It is edged all the way around with a 18 inch hand knotted silk fringe border. The fringe is in excellent condition.The inner lame and silk square measures 46" x 46" making at a total of 64" square!

- items less then $500, or that are on sale, require a 50% deposit with the final payment due in two weeks from the date of deposit
