1960s Hand Painted George Halley Couture Gown

From the George Halley archives comes this one of a kind, hand painted silk gown. Made of a silk crepe that has a hand painted feather design that runs across the top and back of the neck and then down each wide, kimono influenced sleeve. The sleeves are cut directly from the high waist so are amazingly wide and full! The waist nips in and then the skirt falls to the floor in a A-line shape. The painted design on the upper bodice has flat silver discs applied and worked into the design. This was customs made and a one of a kind. Overall sound condition with a couple of small issues - please read the next paragraph. Presents well!

Fully lined in a purple silk that is hand set. Closes with a back, hand set, painted metal zipper and hook & eye at the back neck. Note that there is subtle fading along the top of the shoulders - because of the pattern it looks deliberate and to be honest I am not sure if it is actually the pattern. There is also a lightening along both sides of the skirt following the seams. It could be worn as is or you could take in the skirt to make it more of a straight sheath and it would eliminate this. Priced accordingly and still an amazing example of his work and a one of kind!
