1950s Abstract Black & Metallic Print Kimono
A stunning kimono with a very beautiful abstract print that runs over the surface in a striking combination of a black silk base with metallic green and copper threads woven through the silk. There are little "jugs" that are scattered through the design as well. The design covers the entire surface of the kimono for maximum impact. The interior is lined in a pretty cream silk that has a pink pattern running over it and this lines the upper interior and sleeves. The work is very fine and it is just so unusual. You can wrap these and belt them so that you to be able to wear it as a mini dress or tunic, or use it as a light evening coat. They really are versatile and a great way to work a bit of vintage into your wardrobe. Excellent condition
Partially lined in a cream and pale pink patterned silk through the upper half and inside of the sleeves. Hand stitching and the kimono maker's embroidered mark is at the center back neck.
