One of the most profound inspirations in my life has been designer Tommy Roberts of London's Mr Freedom - arguably the most innovative boutique in rock fashion history.

Initially on the famous Kings Road, Roberts relocated to Kensington Church St & opened a three-floor counterculture department store that that sold pop art furniture & clothing.

He ushered in the anti-hippie movement by embracing the surreal, acid-like imagery of the then burgeoning youth culture. He collaborated with young avant-grade designers & artists, many straight out of art school - to create pieces that would inspire some of the most legendary musicians of our time.

So, you could understand my freak out when discovering that Astrid Lundstrom's Mr Freedom Sailor Suit Shorts Set was in my Shrimpton Couture delivery. (Yes, Mrs. Bill Wyman herself!)

It's Tommy Roberts at his best: bright, kitschy & fun. The perfect piece of rock & roll history!
