Ossie Clark was a designer who defined & helped shape a generation. He deeply understood the female form & had the remarkable ability of turning notoriously difficult fabric into romantic, incredibly sexy works of art.
He was the forerunner of the now synonymous designer pairing of ‘pop & fashion’. Designing stage outfits for Mick Jagger, Marc Bolan & The Beatles and dressing the women of the moment: Pattie Boyd, Bianca Jagger & Twiggy.
For this week’s style post I had the absolute pleasure of slipping on a late-60s Black Ossie Clark gown (available upon request) from Shrimpton Couture. I asked my lovely friend - Beauty Writer, Hannah Johnson to model the same gown in ivory (also available upon request).
Ossie’s love of dance inspired his clothes to be free-flowing & seductive and when you put on one of his famous gowns, you truly feel that in the DNA of the fabric.
