Before Lauren Bacall died last year in August, she granted The Museum at FIT permission to create an exhibit around her. The show, titled Lauren Bacall: The Look, opened yesterday, and displays the star’s personal clothes from the ’60s and ’70s. (They were often quite similar to those she wore on-screen.)
A “subway” ensemble, which consists of a tan overcoat that opens to reveal a gold-sequin lining and sheath dress, is just one of the highlights. And if you walk downstairs, FIT also happens to be hosting an exhibit on YSL and Halston, both of whom Bacall wore. Two exhibits, two perspectives, similar clothes.
