Vintage in the News

* From May 3, 2014 to March 15, 2015, London's Victoria & Albert Museum is opening its doors for a new exhibition, Wedding Dresses 1775-2014, retelling the stories behind the most beautiful dresses of the last two centuries. If you are a soon to be bride you are going to want to see this! It will be like bridal gown porn!

* OK so maybe we should have posted this about a month ago but there are still lots of gift wrapping opps before next Christmas right? Va-Voom vintage has a free download you can get of the 1958 "Gifts too Pretty to Open"

* France presented Gaby Aghion with a stylish salute: The Chloé founder was honored as a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor for her bountiful contributions to fashion back in December. Aghion joins the ranks of Azzedine Alaïa, Valentino Garavani, Cecil Beaton, and Josephine Baker as a recipient of the prestigious medal. Not bad company at all Ms Aghion.

* The JAR exhibit is still going strong at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and feature more than 400 works by renowned jewelry designer Joel A. Rosenthal, who works in Paris under the name JAR. If you have not heard of him don't feel sad. He decided who can be his clients and its all very shee shee and for the rich and famous only - though that also is deemed by him. He sure can design jewels though! Worth a trip to see! Now until March 9, 2014
